Stand Ups (Daily Meeting)

• 10-15 minutes
• Focus on a few topics:
  • Anything of interest to the group
  • Requests for help
  • Reminders, requests for follow-on discussions

Not everyone needs to speak. Follow-on discussions commonly happen after the group has disbanded.

No one is being excluded or slighted. Teams should trust each other and be efficient. If you need everyone to speak every day, you may have some other team problem. But YMMV - this is just my opinion and experience.

In virtual meetings, I suggest one person does the roll call, going through attendees and seeing if they have something to share. A common refrain in my meetings: “Nothing for the group.”
